Pastor Kenneth Staples (Bio)
Ken grew up in West Caldwell, New Jersey and attended Montclair State College where he earned his BS in Recreation, Physical Education, and Fitness with a specialty in Therapeutic Recreation. He interned at Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ. He became a Recreation Therapist at Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation in West Orange. Two years later he became the Director of Therapeutic Recreation in East Orange.
In 1992, Ken went to Brookdale Baptist Church in Bloomfield and began a relationship with Jesus Christ after hearing a message from John 3:16. His wife Kate accepted Christ 2 months after on an Evangelism Explosion Visit. This decision to follow Jesus completely changed Ken and Kate’s lives and as a result, their marriage!
In 1999, Ken and family moved from New Jersey to Clarks Summit, PA to attend Baptist Bible Seminary. Ken completed his studies and was ordained in 2004.
Ken was an Associate Pastor, focused on Youth, for 4 years at Hydewood Park Baptist Church in North Plainfield, NJ. He has been at Calvary Bible Church as an Associate Pastor, also focused on Youth, since July 2008.

Ken and Kate have been married 17 years. They have 3 children: Kenny (17), Julia (14), and John (10).
