'Lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to thee?' Then he will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.'
Our IHN (Homeless) Ministry is in urgent need of more volunteers, particularly in the area of Overnight Hosts. If you’ve ever felt convicted by Matthew 25:45, would you please consider placing your name and phone number on our volunteer roster? You would not necessarily be called each time we host IHN guests, and there is no obligation to serve when called. As you may know, we display an easel sign-up board in the church foyer for volunteers to plug themselves into specific jobs and timeslots in the schedule. The roster we would like to compile would consist of people we could call on to help fill the blank spots in our schedules when the need arises.
Overnight hosting is easy, and usually just involves showing up at 9:00 PM, spending the night in one of the Sunday School classrooms with a partner (spouse, church friend, your teen-aged child, etc.), and leaving by 7:00 AM.
If you are interested in helping in other positions such as Evening Host, Overnight Host supplying dinner, etc., contact Nancy via the church office.
